Dr. Margaret Kehoe

Doctor Margaret Kehoe

Dr. Margaret Kehoe received her Ph.D. degree in Wood and Paper Science, M.S. degree in Textile and Polymer Chemistry, B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and B.Sc. in Pulp and Paper Engineering all from North Carolina State University. 

After completing her PhD., she accepted a Post Doctoral Research position at Swedish Technical Fiber Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. After completing her post doc, she received a research associate position in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at Western Michigan University (WMU), where she later accepted a position as assistant professor in the Department of Paper Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Imaging.

Within five years she was promoted to tenture-track associate professor and received early promation to tenure-track full professor four years later.  While at WMU, Dr. Joyce received numerous teaching and research awards such as CEAS Outstanding Service to Students Award, CEAS Outstanding Researcher Award, TAPPI Mead Westvaco Outstanding Educator Award, TAPPI Fellow, Global FlexiAward for Innovations in Research and Michigan Business Review Innovative Research Award, from the university and multiple professional organizations to which she belonged.

She successfully started and directed two nationally recognized research centers and helped numerous industrial clients to commercialize new technologies. After 20 years of service, she retired from WMU and joined SNP Inc., as Director of New Product innovation. A partial list of her publications is provided below.
